Incoming Freshmen
Dear Northsider,
We in the Northside Aquatics Department would like to congratulate you on your acceptance to Northside College Prep. It should be considered as one of your biggest achievements. Only about 3% of applicants are successful at getting through our doors.
One thing about Northside is that we are known for the variety of athletic programs we offer. Some of those programs are Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving, as well as Water Polo. Our programs have really begun to emerge over the years. What began as a school with just smart students has become a school with smart athletes.
In the short years that Northside has opened its doors, a number of aquatic athletes have continued on to compete in college, in schools such as The Naval Academy, University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign, Air Force Academy, Grinnell University, University of Iowa, Wabash, University of California-Davis, University of Illinois-Chicago, and many more.
Competing in athletics teaches you how to manage your time which is a great skill to have. It has become so helpful that in 2005, the men’s swim team at Northside had the highest GPA in the nation and the second highest in 2006 and third in 2007. The women held to 5th in 2006 and 2007.
Another thing you can look forward to is making new friends and having fun. The friends you make here swimming and playing water polo, will be your friends for the rest of your life.
